Accurascale - ACC2907-DCC Class 60 - EWS Late - 60065
In the late 80's a need to haul coal, construction stone, petrolium and steel across much of the UK's rail network generated the call for a new powerful Type 5 heavy freight diesel locomotive. The answer came with the reasuringly bulky British Rail Class 60, 100 of which entered service in the early 1990's quickly gaining popularity with crews and enthusiasts who nicknamed them Tugs.
As a reviewer in BMR states "Accurascale has delivered a Class 60 model that finally looks powerful and purposeful and its hard to find aspects requiring improvement. The proportions, the liveries and the sound all capure the essence of the prototype and the running qualities are excellent. For me this is one of the best ready-to-run diesels I've seen in OO gauge for some time." You can read the full review in BRM magazine - Nov 25 issue.
